Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you win this matchup at every level as long as you maintain soldier positioning between yourself and Fizz, using your range to poke him down before he can realistically all-in; his Q dash range is shorter than your soldier attack range, so he must walk into your zone to trade.
  • Post-6, you lose the 1v1 if he lands his R on you in a position where your soldiers are not already placed, as his burst combo will kill you before you can deal enough damage back, but your R can save you if you use it the moment he commits his E.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to place soldiers at max range and auto-attack him through them whenever he steps up to CS, forcing him to either take free poke or waste his E defensively.
  • If he does close the gap, immediately use your R to knock him away and reposition your soldiers to re-establish the range advantage rather than trying to fight him at melee range.

Wave Control

  • You want to maintain a slow push or freeze near your side of the lane to deny Fizz the ability to roam freely, as his primary win condition in this matchup is snowballing other lanes rather than killing you directly.
  • Letting waves crash under your tower repeatedly gives him free roam windows, so active wave management and vision control on his position are critical.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not place your soldiers in predictable static positions when Fizz has his R available, as a well-timed R into your soldier cluster will burst you before you can react with your own R.
  • Always keep your R as a reactive escape tool rather than an offensive opener in this matchup, because burning it aggressively leaves you with no answer to his all-in.
