LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, your range advantage and W mobility let you poke Illaoi freely and disengage her E attempts, making levels 1–3 favorable as long as you respect tentacle zones and never stand near walls.
- Post-6, the matchup becomes genuinely dangerous: her R combined with a landed E creates a tentacle storm that your W cannot fully escape, so you must avoid letting her land E at all costs rather than relying on W to save you after the fact.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is short-range Q pokes followed by immediate W repositioning away from tentacles, never committing to extended trades where her passive and tentacle autos stack up against you.
- Use your R offensively only when Illaoi has no tentacles nearby, as fighting inside her tentacle field negates your mobility advantage entirely.
Wave Control
- Keep the wave in a slow push or slight freeze near your side to deny Illaoi the extended tentacle-zone fights she needs — a wave near your tower limits her ability to all-in and forces her to overextend for CS, giving you punish windows.
- Avoid hard shoving into her tower, as that gives her a walled environment with maximum tentacle density where your W escape routes become predictable.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use W reactively after her E has already landed — by the time her spirit is pulled, repositioning with W still leaves you tethered and eating tentacle hits during the animation.
- Save W as a preemptive dodge tool or gap-closer, not as an escape from a trade you have already lost.
