Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win trades at range by keeping your passive stars active and landing Q to zone Mordekaiser off the wave, but if he closes the gap and procs his passive aura on you repeatedly, his sustained damage and W shield will outsustain your poke.
- Post-6, you must never let him R you — if he catches you in his R, he steals your stats and you have no escape tools inside the Death Realm, making it a near-certain death.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to shove the wave quickly with E to execute minions, then poke Mordekaiser from max range with Q while your passive stars chip him down — never stand still long enough for him to proc his passive three times.
- Use W to reposition laterally or escape his E pull range, as getting pulled into melee range negates your entire kit.
Wave Control
- Push the wave as fast as possible with E stacks to deny him farm and force him to take passive damage under your stars, then roam with W to generate leads elsewhere rather than fighting him in a prolonged sidelane duel.
- Mordekaiser is a weak roamer, so your wave-clear advantage and W mobility are your primary tools — use them to win the map, not the lane.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not let Mordekaiser walk up and proc his passive on you while you are farming — his aura damage is deceptively high and he will out-sustain your poke with W healing if you trade at close range.
- Avoid standing in predictable positions where his E can pull you into melee, as that single mistake hands him a full passive proc and potentially a kill setup.
