LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win short trades at all early levels by leveraging your range, W attack speed steroid, and passive slow to deal damage and disengage before he can sustain through it with W; however, if he lands Q and closes to melee range, you lose the extended fight because his W healing and true damage outscale your damage in a prolonged brawl.
- Post-6, your R changes the matchup significantly by giving you a long-range stun to either disengage a dive or set up a kill with your jungler, but his R makes him immune to it during his engage window, so you must land R before he activates R or the ability is wasted.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to use W to accelerate your attack speed, apply your passive slow with autos to keep him at range, and disengage the moment he throws Q, using the brief window before it lands to reposition.
- Never stand still to trade autos in melee range; your damage model depends entirely on maintaining distance, and every second he is in melee range with W active he is healing and dealing more damage than you.
Wave Control
- Maintain a slow push or freeze near your side of the lane to deny him the ability to all-in you with jungle support and to keep the wave in a position where your range advantage is maximized and his Q gap-close is more predictable.
- Avoid hard shoving into his tower, as a bounced wave that resets near his side gives him a freeze opportunity and forces you to walk up into his Q range to farm.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not attempt to use R to stop his R-enhanced engage, as he is CC-immune during R and your stun will be completely wasted; instead, use R before he activates R to either peel him away or force him to burn R reactively rather than offensively.
- Overcommitting to short poke trades without a clear escape path is also a critical mistake, as one landed Q from him at low health means he has a very short cooldown and can chain gap-closes to kill you before you disengage.
