Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you win the scuttle fight if you land your E dash to close the gap and chain your Q procs efficiently, as Udyr's early damage is strong but your burst pattern with empowered autos from Q stacks can outduel him if you stay aggressive and don't let him freely stack his W shield.
- From level 6, your R gives you a gap-close and knockback that disrupts Udyr's ability to freely stack his W and sustain through trades, so you win 1v1 by using R to interrupt his defensive setup, then immediately chaining E and Q procs before he can re-engage his W shield cycle.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Udyr most commonly runs a full clear starting Red side (Red Buff β Raptors β Wolves β Blue β Gromp β Scuttle) or Blue side (Blue β Gromp β Wolves β Raptors β Red β Scuttle), prioritizing fast clear speed with his W sustain and Q damage to reach level 3 scuttle contest efficiently; he will look to path toward the river scuttle that is closest to his red buff side.
Invade or Not
- You should invade Udyr at his second or third camp (around 3:00β3:15) on his opposite-side buff after he starts, as he is vulnerable between camps when his W shield is on cooldown and he has not yet stacked his passive fully; target his blue or red buff depending on his start, as stealing it denies him the clear speed advantage he relies on to snowball through objectives.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not try to extended trade with Udyr by standing still and auto-attacking without using your E repositioning, because his W shield regeneration and sustained damage will outlast you in a prolonged fight where you are not actively resetting your Q stacks and using your mobility to control trade distance.
