Who Wins

  • Pre-6, you lose extended trades at level 1 and 2 due to Teemo's range advantage and poison sustaining damage between your engages, but at level 3 your full Q-W-E combo deals enough burst to punish him if he overextends past the wave.
  • Post-6, your R gives you a reliable gap-close that bypasses his kiting, and if you land it on top of him you win the all-in decisively since your damage output far exceeds his in a committed fight.

How to Trade

  • Your best pattern is to use minions as cover to close distance, proc Q twice through the wave, then immediately W into him and E to extend the trade before he can reposition — never trade in short bursts because his poison will win the attrition war.
  • Avoid chasing him into open space; force him to either fight near the wave or take a full combo by threatening his positioning.

Wave Control

  • Push the wave hard early to deny him safe poke range and force him under tower, where his kiting space is limited and your gap-close becomes far more threatening.
  • If you can crash a wave and roam, do so — sitting in lane against sustained ranged poke is one of the worst positions you can be in as a melee champion.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not walk up to trade without a clear engage path, because eating two or three auto-attacks plus poison before landing your combo puts you in a deficit that compounds over time.
  • Avoid using R reactively as an escape tool; save it as your primary engage mechanism, since without it you have no reliable way to stick to him.
