LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, you win this lane convincingly at every level spike; at level 2 you can already trade aggressively with Q into auto-passive into E, and Smolder has no reliable way to punish your all-in or disengage from it.
- Post-6, your R gives you a two-part gap-close that makes it nearly impossible for Smolder to escape, and his R does not provide enough burst or mobility to threaten you in a full trade, so you remain the dominant duelist throughout the game.
How to Trade
- The optimal pattern is to use Q to proc your passive mark, auto to consume it for the empowered hit and healing, then E in to extend the trade if they try to run; this cycling of passive sustain while dealing burst damage makes extended trades heavily favor you.
- Use W to reposition in brush when Smolder tries to poke with Q, then re-engage from an unexpected angle to deny him the safe ranged poke pattern he relies on.
Wave Control
- Keep the wave slightly frozen near your side of the lane to deny Smolder safe farming range and force him to overextend for CS, which puts him in your engagement range without tower protection.
- If he pushes into your tower, let the wave build and then all-in him under tower using R to close the gap before he can react, as his lack of a reliable escape makes tower dives at even moderate gold leads very punishing for him.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not waste your W purely for stealth without a clear re-engagement plan, as Smolder can use the time to reset the wave or recall safely if you disappear without following up.
- Avoid using R first part at max range without a guaranteed follow-up, as telegraphing your engage gives him just enough time to use E and create enough distance to make your second R whiff or land in a poor position.
