Pre-6, your lane loses if Leona hits E on Zeri before you attach — you need to be attached to Zeri at all times in the early levels because Zeri cannot survive Leona's level 2 burst alone.
Post-6, you win the sustained 2v2 because your healing and R CC combined with Zeri's mobility make the lane nearly impossible for Ashe+Leona to all-in successfully.

Your best pattern is to stay attached to Zeri during all trades, using Q to poke Ashe (the immobile target) rather than Leona, and saving W heals for when Leona's CC lands — do not pre-emptively heal as it wastes mana.
When Zeri has R active, you can use your R offensively to root Leona mid-engage and turn a defensive situation into a kill.

You should not roam — Zeri without Yuumi attached is extremely vulnerable to Leona's all-in, and leaving the lane even briefly post-6 can result in a free kill for Leona.
Your value is entirely tied to keeping Zeri alive and empowered in this matchup, not roaming.

Do not detach from Zeri to dodge Leona's E — detaching removes your passive bonus from Zeri and leaves her without healing at the exact moment she needs it most.
The correct response to Leona engaging is to stay attached, use W immediately, and trust Zeri's mobility to escape rather than sacrificing your attachment.
