Who Wins
- Pre-6, you do not straight up win early trades against Darius if he lands his E, because his passive bleed combined with Q healing will outsustain your ghoul damage in a prolonged fight.
- However, your W cage is a critical tool at level 2 onward — if you place it reactively after his E, you trap him inside with your ghouls and deny his escape, which can flip the trade in your favor.
How to Trade
- Post-6, your R fundamentally changes the dynamic because even if Darius kills you, your R clone continues to fight and can finish him, making him extremely reluctant to commit a full all-in.
- You win the post-6 duel if you have ghouls available, use W to zone him, and activate R before he gets 5 passive stacks on you.
Wave Control
- Your best trading pattern is to poke with E to place a grave, let ghouls chip him down, and only commit to a full trade when your W is available to cage him and amplify ghoul damage.
- Avoid fighting without ghouls present, as without them you are a melee champion with no gap close fighting one of the strongest all-in champions in the game.
Mistakes to Avoid
- You should prioritize freezing the wave near your tower once you have a lead, as this forces Darius to walk up into ghoul range and your W zone while denying him the ability to all-in safely.
- Do not shove blindly into his tower, as Darius excels at punishing overextended melee champions with a single E-into-full-combo when the wave is not in your favor.
