Who Wins
- You lose early trades pre-6 due to Gragas's superior poke with Q and sustain from passive, but can start winning extended trades around level 3-4 when you have Q3 knockup and W shield.
- Post-6 you win all-ins if you dodge his R with your E, as your sustained damage and mobility outclass his burst combo.
How to Trade
- Look for short Q3 engages when Gragas uses Q for waveclear, then immediately back off with E to avoid his W-E retaliation.
- Your best trading windows are when his E is down, allowing you to take extended trades with Q spam and W shield without fear of his escape/engage tool.
Wave Control
- Push early levels to get priority and roam timing, but be careful of jungle ganks since you're immobile without E.
- After level 6, look to freeze near your tower to create long lane for all-ins, as Gragas struggles to escape your E-R combo in extended lanes.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't use E aggressively when Gragas has R available, as he can knock you away mid-dash and leave you stranded in a bad position.
- Avoid trading when you're low on health, as his R-flash combo can easily finish you even through your W shield.
