Who Wins
- You lose pre-6 trades due to Azir's superior range and poke damage with Q-AA combos that you cannot effectively answer.
- Post-6 you gain kill pressure with R engage potential, but Azir can still kite you effectively with his soldiers and E escape if he positions properly.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is E forward into Q3-W combo when Azir mispositions or wastes his Q, then immediately E back to safety.
- Avoid extended trades where he can kite you with soldiers, and only commit to all-ins when you have R available and he lacks escape tools.
Wave Control
- You want to maintain the wave in the center or slightly pushing toward Azir to create opportunities for E engages without overextending.
- Avoid letting him freeze the wave as this gives him a safe position to poke you down while denying your engage angles.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't waste your E aggressively when Azir has his E available, as he can easily escape your engage and leave you overextended.
- Avoid trading in large minion waves early game where his soldiers can hit both you and minions, giving him wave control advantage.
