Scuttle Contest

  • At level 3, you lose the scuttle fight against Hecarim if he has his E active — his movement speed bonus translates directly into damage, and he will out-sustain your burst with his W passive healing.
  • From level 6, you can win a 1v1 if you bait his E dash first, then use your W decoy to dodge his follow-up, and burst him down with Q empowered auto into R knockup before he can re-engage with E.

Predicted Jungle Path

  • Hecarim typically starts Red Buff side on his bot-side jungle, clears Raptors or Krugs efficiently, then looks for early Scuttle or a gank path top or mid by level 3.
  • He favors full clears with minimal backtracking due to his W sustain, so expect him to be healthy and on the opposite side of the map from where he started.

Invade or Not

  • You should not invade Hecarim early unless you have vision confirming he is on the opposite side of the map — his E gives him enough mobility to collapse on you faster than you can escape, and your W decoy does not reliably disengage a committed Hecarim chase.
  • If you do invade, the optimal window is after he has cleared his second buff (around 3:15–3:30) at his second buff camp, where he will be temporarily stationary and slightly lower on health.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use your W defensively too early in the fight — Hecarim's E has a long enough duration that he can simply wait out your decoy and re-engage with full momentum damage.
  • Burning W before he commits his E means you have no escape tool and no way to dodge his primary damage source.
