Who Wins
- Pre-6, you lose most extended trades against Irelia once she has 4 stacks on her passive and her E stun available — she out-damages you in short windows and her healing from Q resets lets her sustain through your W.
- Post-6, your R gives you a meaningful all-in threat, but Irelia's E stun can interrupt your R channel if she reacts fast enough, so you only win the 1v1 if you land R when she has no E available or is low enough to burst.
How to Trade
- Your best pattern is to poke with Q from range when she is farming under passive stacks, then disengage before she can stack her passive fully — never let her reach 4 stacks while you are in melee range.
- If she overextends or wastes her E on a minion, that is your window to W-auto trade and use Q to sustain back up, but keep trades short unless she is below 40% HP.
Wave Control
- Push the wave early to deny her Q reset farming on the wave, since she needs minion kills to stack gold and stay relevant — a frozen wave near your tower is dangerous because she can freely Q reset on minions while you cannot safely engage.
- Try to maintain a slow push or reset the wave to neutral so she cannot freely stack passive without committing to you.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not attempt a full all-in when Irelia has her E available and full passive stacks — this is the single most common way Warwick dies in this matchup, as she will stun you mid-R channel or immediately after and kill you before your healing can save you.
