Who Wins
- Pre-6, you lose almost every extended trade because your E slow and Q dash are not enough to stick to Heimerdinger through his W knockback and turret damage; post-6, your R gives you a window to all-in under his turrets with the lightning immunity, but he can still E stun you and disengage before you kill him if he plays reactively.
How to Trade
- Your best trade pattern is to wait for him to misposition or waste his E, then Q in, immediately W to proc the empowered bite, and R if you have it to ignore turret damage — do not extended trade without R active because the turret DPS and W beam will out-damage your sustain.
Wave Control
- You want to shove the wave fast with your W to deny him free turret placement under your tower, then look to roam with R because you will not consistently kill him in lane; letting the wave freeze near his tower is a death sentence since his turrets become a second frontline.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not walk into his turret cluster without R active — his three turrets plus W beam deal enough damage in a few seconds to kill you even at full health, and tanking them without the lightning immunity is the single biggest mistake you can make in this lane.
