  • You lose short trades pre-6 as Garen can Q-E and run away before you can proc your W bite or land meaningful damage.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is to land Q stun, get two autos to mark him, then W bite while weaving in E damage - you need extended trades to win.
  • If he tries to disengage with Q, use your own Q to chase and extend the fight since you win longer engagements.

Wave Control

  • You want to keep waves in the middle or push him under tower where you can threaten dives post-6 with your R.
  • Avoid letting him freeze near his tower as the short lane prevents you from running him down with your superior extended trading.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don't take short trades where he can Q-E and immediately disengage - you need to commit to longer fights to make use of your W healing and damage.
  • Never waste your Q engage when his Q is up as he can cleanse your stun and run away before you can follow up meaningfully.
