LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, you lose most extended trades because Master Yi's base stats, attack speed, and Q burst outpace your healing at early levels; your W gives you a brief escape window but it has a long cooldown and Yi can simply wait it out or reposition.
- Post-6, your R gives you enough movement speed and empowered Q healing to kite more effectively, but Yi's R still lets him close gaps instantly, so you never cleanly win a straight 1v1 unless he is significantly behind.
How to Trade
- Your best pattern is to poke with Q from max range, avoid committing to extended trades, and use W reactively when Yi uses his Q to dive on you — never use W preemptively or he will simply wait and burst you after it expires.
- Stack Crimson Rush before engaging and look for short burst windows: R into empowered Q, then disengage rather than staying in melee range.
Wave Control
- Push the wave consistently to deny Yi farm under tower, as he is a weak laner who needs items to function and struggles to CS safely under pressure.
- Use your wave clear to shove, back safely, and avoid giving him free farm in an empty lane — denying his early gold is your primary win condition.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use W as an aggressive tool or waste it on non-threatening moments; if you pop W and Yi simply backs off, you have given away your only defensive cooldown for nothing.
- Avoid standing still to pool — Yi can track your location and time his Q to land the moment you emerge, so always move unpredictably after W ends.
