Who Wins
- Pre-6 you dominate with Q-auto trades and superior range, forcing Ryze to choose between farming and taking damage.
- Post-6 becomes more dangerous as Ryze gains root chains with E-W, but your R zone control gives you strong disengage and teamfight presence.
How to Trade
- Use Q-auto trades whenever Ryze steps up for CS, then immediately back away to avoid his E-Q retaliation.
- Your W can interrupt his combos and create zones where he can't chase, making it excellent for disengaging after successful poke.
Wave Control
- Focus on farming safely for Hex Fragments while using your range advantage to deny Ryze's farm when possible.
- After first augment, you can match his waveclear and maintain priority to prevent his R roams.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't let Ryze get free E-Q waveclear without trading back, as he'll quickly push and roam with R.
- Avoid fighting in large minion waves where his Q resets become overwhelming, and respect his all-in potential once he completes his first major item.
