- You win pre-6 through superior range and poke, but must respect Katarina's level 2 all-in potential with Q-E combo.
- Post-6 you maintain advantage if you land E to interrupt her R, but she can kill you instantly if she gets on top of you without your E available.
How to Trade
- Your optimal trading is Q poke followed by W when she goes for CS, then immediately back off to avoid her gap-close retaliation.
- Never commit to extended trades as her sustained damage and mobility will overwhelm you.
Wave Control
- Push early levels to establish range advantage and ward aggressively, then maintain slow push or freeze near your tower.
- You want to avoid letting the wave bounce back to her since she can use minions for E resets during all-ins.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never use E aggressively for damage or wave clear when Katarina has R available, as you'll have no interrupt for her ultimate.
- Don't stand near low-health minions that she can E to for gap-closing, especially after level 6.
