Who Wins
- You win pre-6 through superior range and wave control, as Akali cannot effectively trade without taking minion damage and your Q poke.
- Post-6 the matchup flips heavily in Akali's favor since her R gives her the gap-close and burst to kill you through your E, making it extremely difficult to survive her all-ins.
How to Trade
- Your optimal trading is Q poke when Akali goes for CS, then immediately back off to avoid her Q-passive auto retaliation.
- Never extend trades beyond single spell rotations pre-6, as her energy-based sustain and passive movement speed will favor longer engagements.
Wave Control
- Push early levels to establish range advantage and deny Akali's ability to freeze, then transition to neutral/slight push to maintain CS while staying safe from ganks.
- Avoid hard shoving post-6 as it puts you in gankable positions where Akali can easily follow up on jungle pressure.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never use E reactively against Akali's R1 as good players will hold R2 to dash out of your cage, leaving you defenseless for her re-engage.
- The biggest mistake is not respecting her level 6 power spike and staying in lane with low HP, as she can easily tower dive you with R.
