Who Wins
- Pre-6 you win most trades at level 1 and especially at level 2 when your W gives you the engage tool to close gap and stack E; post-6 Vladimir's R plus pool combo can reverse a trade you thought you were winning, so you must respect his all-in potential even when ahead.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to W onto Vladimir when he steps up to Q, immediately auto-attack to start stacking E, and force him to either take the full explosion or burn W to avoid it; if he pools, disengage and reset rather than chasing into his healing window.
Wave Control
- Keep the wave slightly pushed toward his tower so he is forced to Q minions for CS rather than harassing you freely, and use your E reset from cannon minions to maintain priority; a frozen wave near your tower is risky because it gives him a safe environment to sustain with Q without threat of your W engage.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use W as a pure escape tool when Vladimir is at full health and has pool available — he can simply pool your E explosion and then Q you as you land, turning your disengage into a losing trade for you.
