Who Wins
- You win pre-6 through superior range and Q blind, but Malphite's Q poke and armor scaling make trades increasingly unfavorable.
- Post-6 you lose all-ins hard due to R engage potential combined with his armor stacking negating your damage.
How to Trade
- Auto-attack Malphite when he goes for CS, then immediately back off before he can retaliate with Q or extended trades.
- Use Q reactively when he commits to longer trades, not proactively, since good Malphites will disengage and re-engage after blind expires.
Wave Control
- Maintain a slow push to keep minions between you and Malphite's engage range, but avoid hard shoving since you become gankable.
- Keep the wave slightly on your side to have escape room while still being able to poke safely.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't waste Q on poke or use it too early in trades - Malphite can simply walk away and re-engage when blind expires.
- Avoid staying in lane with low health post-6 as his R-E-Q combo can 100-0 you even through your mobility.
