Who Wins
- Pre-6 you win most exchanges due to superior range and the ability to poke with Q while Lissandra's Q requires her to be closer or in a straight line; at level 3 your Q-E-Q combo deals meaningful damage and she has no reliable way to retaliate from range, but she can survive by playing behind minions to block her Q and using W to disengage if you overextend.
- Post-6 the matchup becomes genuinely dangerous because her R either locks you in place for a full combo or she uses it on herself to negate your burst, and your R stun window is tight enough that a well-timed self-R from her completely neutralizes your kill pressure.
How to Trade
- Your optimal trade is to land Q from max range, then E the sphere into her to knock her up and follow with a second Q during the stun; this forces her to either take the full combo or burn a cooldown to escape, and you should never commit to a full trade unless E is available because without the knockup she can simply W away and you lose the exchange.
- Avoid extended trades where she can land multiple Q procs and W on top of you, as her damage stacks up faster than it appears and she has built-in disengage that resets the fight on her terms.
Wave Control
- You want to shove the wave efficiently with Q bouncing off multiple minions to build sphere stacks, then look for poke on Lissandra when she steps up to last-hit; a pushed wave also denies her roam windows because she has to clear before leaving, and your wave clear is faster than hers in the early game.
- Avoid freezing unless you are significantly behind, as a frozen wave near your tower removes your poke angle and lets her roam freely without consequence.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use E aggressively without confirming her W is on cooldown, because she will simply W through your knockup setup and you will have burned your only reliable engage tool on nothing; this is the single most common way Syndra players throw this matchup by committing to a combo that Lissandra sidesteps with W, leaving you vulnerable with E on a long cooldown.
