Who Wins
- You win pre-6 through superior range and poke with Q, as Jayce struggles to gap close without committing his E-Q combo which leaves him vulnerable.
- Post-6 you maintain advantage since your R provides guaranteed burst while Jayce's all-in requires landing skillshots and proper form management.
How to Trade
- Your optimal trading pattern is Q poke followed by W-E combo when Jayce steps up for CS, then immediately back off to avoid his retaliation.
- Never trade auto attacks or extended fights since his melee form out-damages you in sustained combat.
Wave Control
- Push early levels with Q to establish priority, then maintain a slow push to build up spheres for potential all-ins.
- Keep the wave slightly on your side post-6 to have room to kite backwards when he tries to engage.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't get caught in melee range when he has hammer form available, as his E-Q combo into melee form will chunk you heavily.
- Avoid using your E defensively unless absolutely necessary since it's your primary setup tool for kills.
