Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you lose the scuttle fight against Nunu because his W gives him a massive movement speed boost to engage and his Q sustain keeps him healthy through your trades; your damage output at level 3 is not high enough to burst him before he snowballs you into the wall.
- From level 6, you can win a 1v1 if you steal his R and use it to set up your own engage, but only if you have a meaningful health advantage going in โ fighting him at even health with his W active is still losing for you due to his tankiness and CC chain.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Nunu typically starts Red Buff side (Red โ Raptors โ Krugs or Red โ Raptors โ Scuttle) to maximize his W gank threat on the bottom side early, then transitions to Blue side after first scuttle.
- He prioritizes fast clears and early scuttle control over level 3 invades, so expect him to contest scuttle around 3:15โ3:30 with near-full health.
Invade or Not
- You should not invade Nunu early (pre-6) because his Q sustain lets him clear camps efficiently and his W will catch you in tight jungle corridors where you cannot disengage safely.
- If you want to invade, do it at level 6 after stealing his R โ wait for him to start his second buff camp (around 4:30โ5:00 on the opposite side of the map from you) and contest it, as his R cooldown will be long and your stolen R gives you a burst window he cannot match.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not try to all-in Nunu while his W is active and he has a wall nearby โ he will roll you into the terrain, chain CC you, and his Q will heal him through your burst.
- Many Sylas players overestimate their damage after stealing R and engage at low health, which is a guaranteed death because Nunu's base tankiness and W shield absorb your combo before you can finish him.
