Who Wins
- You win pre-6 through superior range and sustain, as your Q outranges Zed's Q and your passive healing keeps you healthy through poke trades.
- Post-6 becomes Zed-favored as his R gives him the burst potential to kill you through your sustain if he lands his combo.
How to Trade
- Your optimal trading pattern is Q poke when Zed goes for CS, then immediately back off to avoid his W-E-Q retaliation.
- When he uses W aggressively, you can E-W-Q combo as he's locked in animation, but only if you're healthy enough to survive his all-in response.
Wave Control
- Push early levels with Q to establish range advantage and recall timing, then maintain slow pushes to keep minions between you and Zed's poke.
- Avoid hard shoving post-6 as this gives Zed roam opportunities and leaves you vulnerable to ganks.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't waste E defensively against Zed's W shadow unless he's already committed to an all-in, as you need it for your own trading windows.
- Never face-check bushes or river without vision post-6, as Zed can instantly delete you with R if you're caught in a bad position.
