Who Wins
- You can win short trades pre-6 with Q poke and E root combos while staying at range, but lose extended fights once Mordekaiser gets passive stacks.
- Post-6 the matchup becomes very difficult as R removes your main strength of teamfight utility and kiting potential.
How to Trade
- Focus on Q poke from max range while using minions to block his E pulls, then immediately back away to avoid his passive proc.
- When he commits with E, use your own E to root him and W for the slow, then kite backward with Q spam rather than trying to out-sustain his aura damage.
Wave Control
- Try to freeze the wave near your tower to force Mordekaiser to overextend for farm, making him vulnerable to jungle ganks.
- Avoid hard pushing unless you can immediately roam, as Mordekaiser excels at running you down in long lanes and you lose most isolated 1v1 scenarios.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't use E aggressively for poke as it's your only escape tool when Mordekaiser looks for all-ins with his E pull.
- Avoid fighting near walls or in jungle corridors where his E becomes much easier to land and you have limited space to kite.
