Who Wins
- Pre-6, you lose most extended trades because Malzahar's W constantly drains your HP while you struggle to land Q through his passive shield, and his E silences you mid-charge; post-6, you still lose a straight 1v1 because his R suppresses you through your R, preventing any counterplay unless you have cleanse or QSS.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to pop his passive shield with an auto or E first, then immediately attempt a Q charge while he has no shield buffer — but even then, his W voidlings and E silence make completing a full Q nearly impossible without gap-closing tools.
Wave Control
- Push the wave hard with W to deny him passive shield regeneration time and force him to spend resources on wave clear rather than poking you; a frozen wave near your tower is dangerous because his R suppression into tower dive is a free kill, so keep the wave moving toward him.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never attempt to all-in him without first destroying his passive shield and without having Cleanse or QSS — walking into his R without a suppression counter is an instant death sentence regardless of how much HP you have, as his team will follow up freely.
