Who Wins
- You lose pre-6 to Jayce's superior range and mobility, but can win trades if you land E into Q combo reliably.
- Post-6 your R gives you engage potential, but Jayce's mobility and burst still favor him in straight 1v1s unless you catch him with perfect positioning.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern starts with E to slow Jayce, then charging Q while he's slowed to guarantee the knockup, followed by W for the shield and damage.
- Only commit to this combo when Jayce is in hammer form or has used his E knockback, as his mobility makes landing E difficult otherwise.
Wave Control
- You should focus on farming safely and looking for opportunities to freeze the wave near your tower where Jayce can't poke freely.
- When you do have wave control, use it to set up ganks with your reliable CC chain rather than trying to solo kill.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't waste E on minions for waveclear when Jayce is nearby, as it's your only reliable engage tool and has a long cooldown.
- Avoid charging Q in the open without landing E first, as good Jayce players will simply walk away or interrupt you with their hammer E.
