Who Wins
- You lose early 1v1s levels 1-3 as Garen's Q-E combo outdamages your abilities and he can silence your Q channel.
- At level 6, you still lose the all-in as Garen's ultimate executes you when low, while your ultimate is better for engage than dueling.
How to Trade
- You want to charge Q from fog of war or when Garen uses Q on minions, then follow up with E-W for shield and disengage.
- Never try to trade when your Q is on cooldown as Garen will run you down with Q-E and you have no escape tools.
Wave Control
- You should focus on shoving waves with Q and E to recall safely and avoid extended trades.
- Push for level advantages and back with item spikes, as you scale better into teamfights than Garen does.
Mistakes to Avoid
- You must avoid channeling Q in Garen's face without setup, as he will silence and spin on you for free damage.
- Don't waste your ultimate for waveclear or poke, as it's your only escape tool when Garen runs you down.
