Who Wins
- Jayce wins pre-6 through superior range and poke damage with Q+E combo in ranged form.
- Post-6 you gain kill pressure if you can close distance with R+ghost, but Jayce still has the advantage in extended trades due to his form switching and kiting potential.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to proxy farm or use Q poison trail to force short trades when Jayce steps up for CS.
- Wait for Jayce to waste his ranged Q+E combo, then look for W+E fling combos when he's in melee form or overextended.
Wave Control
- Focus on proxy farming between tier 1 and tier 2 towers to avoid Jayce's poke entirely while forcing him to last hit under tower.
- If proxying isn't viable, maintain minion advantage and look to freeze near your tower where Jayce can't freely poke you.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't try to all-in Jayce in open lane without ghost and ultimate available, as he will kite you with ranged form and disengage with E knockback.
- Avoid chasing him through his acceleration gate as the movement speed boost makes it impossible to catch him.
