How to Trade

  • Your best trades involve landing E to gap close, then Q-auto-W to block his retaliation and disengage before he can barrel combo you.
  • Never trade without E available as you have no way to stick to him or avoid his sustained damage.

Wave Control

  • Focus on freezing the wave near your tower to force Gangplank to overextend for farm, making him vulnerable to jungle ganks.
  • Avoid pushing unless you can recall immediately, as Gangplank will punish you with barrels and Q poke when you return to lane.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don't waste E trying to engage when Gangplank has barrels set up around him, as he'll simply combo you during your dash animation.
  • Avoid trading in extended minion waves where his barrels can hit both you and minions for maximum damage.
