Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you lose the scuttle fight against Lee Sin unless you land your Q backstab perfectly and he misplays — his Q into E combo deals more burst than your boxes can handle in an open river fight, and his W sustain keeps him healthy enough to outlast your damage.
- From level 6, you can win a 1v1 only by pre-placing boxes in a bush, baiting him into them, and using Q to reposition behind him for the backstab amplification, as a straight fight without box setup will almost always result in your death.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Lee Sin most commonly starts Red Buff side, clears Red into Raptors or Krugs, then takes Wolves and Blue before looking for an early gank or scuttle around 3:15–3:30; he may also do a full clear to level 4 before contesting.
- Expect him to prioritize early river presence and invade your jungle if he spots a weak side, as his kit is designed for aggressive early pathing.
Invade or Not
- You should invade Lee Sin, but only at his second buff after he has already cleared it — around 3:00–3:20 on the opposite side of the map from where he started, as he will be lower HP and between camps.
- Place a box at the entrance of his jungle before walking in so that if he turns on you, the fear buys you time to Q out; do not invade his first buff because he will be at full health and his level 2 damage is lethal.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not attempt to fight Lee Sin in an open area without pre-placed boxes — his E slow, Q gap-close, and W shield make him far more durable and mobile than you in a straight skirmish.
- Avoid using Q aggressively to engage rather than to escape, as burning your Q offensively leaves you with no reliable exit when he responds with his own gap-close chain.
