Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you do not win a straight scuttle fight against Graves unless you have boxes pre-placed in the river pit before he arrives — his passive armor stacking and burst damage will kill you in a direct trade.
- From level 6, your win condition in a 1v1 is to activate R immediately when the fight starts, forcing him to guess between you and the clone, then use W to reposition while he wastes shells on the wrong target; you cannot win a sustained face-to-face fight.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Graves typically runs a full clear starting from red buff, clearing efficiently through raptors, wolves, blue, and gromp before contesting scuttle around 3:15 to 3:30.
- He prioritizes fast clearing and early scuttle control over early ganks, so his pathing is predictable and farm-focused in the first clear, making him vulnerable to early invades if you can catch him between camps.
Invade or Not
- You should invade his red buff at level 1 by pre-placing boxes at the camp before the game starts, forcing him to either take damage clearing it or lose the camp entirely — this is your strongest early leverage point.
- Do not attempt a direct combat invade at level 3 or later without boxes pre-placed, as you will lose the fight cleanly in an open area.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use W purely as an escape when Graves is chasing you in an open area — without boxes to fear him, your W repositioning alone will not create enough distance since his E dash will close the gap immediately.
- Always have boxes placed along your escape route in advance, or you will be caught and killed before W's stealth duration matters.
