Who Wins
- You win most trades pre-6 through superior sustained damage and grit shield generation, but Sion can match your early levels with Q poke and E slow combos.
- Post-6 you maintain the 1v1 advantage as your R engage combined with W true damage burst outmatches Sion's R escape potential in extended fights.
How to Trade
- Look for short trades using Q movement speed to gap close, land both Q punches, then immediately W when Sion tries to retaliate with his abilities.
- Avoid extended trades when your grit is low, as Sion's passive sustain and Q damage can overwhelm you without your shield.
Wave Control
- Push early waves to establish level advantages and deny Sion's farming, but be prepared to thin push or freeze when he starts maxing Q for waveclear.
- Control the wave state around your R cooldown to set up all-ins when the wave bounces back to you.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never use R reactively to escape Sion's R engage, as you'll waste your primary kill threat and he can simply walk away.
- Don't chase Sion through minion waves early game where his E can hit multiple targets and his Q becomes easier to land.
