Who Wins
- You win levels 1-3 convincingly with superior base stats and passive regeneration - use Q movement speed to run him down when he wastes abilities.
- Post-6 he gains advantage with R sustain and damage, but you can outplay by dodging his W or Q3 with your R - respect his kiting and don't let him land sweet spots consistently.
How to Trade
- Wait for him to use Q1, then immediately use Q movement speed to run at him and land E pull before his Q2 is ready - this wins trades decisively.
- After landing E-W combo, walk away to avoid his Q sweet spots and don't extend when his passive is up - short burst trades favor you, extended Q rotations favor him.
Wave Control
- Freeze near your tower early to force Aatrox into dangerous positions where you can Q run-down and E pull when he steps up for CS.
- Push only for recalls or when you have kill pressure, as he struggles to break freezes without wasting Q on minions - but respect his range advantage and don't take free poke.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never chase through minion waves where he lands Q sweet spots on both you and minions for sustain - disengage after your combo lands.
- Don't use W reactively against Q3 knockup as good players hold it until your grit expires, and never engage when he has full Q rotation available as he will kite you with Q1-Q2 poke before you reach him.
