Who Wins

  • Pre-6 you and Vayne lose a direct 2v2 if Lux lands E — your E shield helps but does not fully negate the burst from Tristana's W follow-up, and your own damage output pre-6 is not high enough to trade back effectively.
  • Post-6 your R fundamentally changes the lane: a well-aimed R through both enemies sets up a kill that Vayne can close with R active, and Tristana has no reliable way to escape a charmed state.

Synergy & Trading

  • Your best trading pattern is to poke with Q whenever Tristana and Lux stack, use E proactively to shield Vayne before Lux's E lands rather than reactively, and save R for when Lux commits her E+Q combo — catching both enemies in R after they've used their CC means they have no follow-up and Vayne can freely stack W.
  • Do not use R as an opener from max range without Vayne being ready to follow immediately.

Wave Control/Roaming

  • You should generally not roam — Vayne is extremely vulnerable to a 2v1 from Tristana if you leave, and your R is most valuable in the bot lane 2v2 context where it can hit both enemies.
  • If you do roam, only do so after shoving the wave under their tower and confirming Vayne is safe behind tower with vision on the enemy jungler.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not spam Q for poke at the cost of missing E shields on Vayne during Lux's engage windows — Lux's E+Q into Tristana W is fast enough that if your E is on cooldown, Vayne takes full burst and the lane is lost.
  • Prioritize reactive shielding over proactive poke whenever Lux is within her E range.
