Who Wins
- You win pre-6 through superior range and waveclear, as Qiyana struggles to engage through minions and your E-Q combo outranges her abilities.
- Post-6 the matchup shifts heavily in Qiyana's favor since her R can interrupt your combos and her burst potential exceeds your sustained damage output.
How to Trade
- Your optimal trading pattern is E-Q poke when she approaches minions, then immediately back away to avoid her gap-closing retaliation.
- If she commits with E dash, you can E-W root her during the animation and follow with Q, but only if you have minion advantage or jungle proximity.
Wave Control
- Push waves aggressively with E-Q to keep Qiyana under tower and prevent her roaming, but maintain vision of river brushes since she can use them for surprise engages.
- After level 6, consider freezing near your tower instead since her R threat makes aggressive pushing extremely dangerous.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never fight in river or jungle areas where Qiyana has access to multiple elements for her Q, as this gives her massive combat advantages you cannot match.
- Don't waste your W root on minions for waveclear when Qiyana is missing, as you need it available to self-peel when she appears.
