Who Wins
- Pre-6 you have slight advantage through superior range and mobility, but Malzahar's Q poke and passive shield make trades fairly even.
- Post-6 Malzahar wins all-ins decisively due to R suppression preventing your escape and combo execution.
How to Trade
- Use Q-E-Q combos for short trades when his passive is down, then immediately back off before he can retaliate with Q-E.
- Never commit to extended trades as his sustained damage with E and voidlings will outdamage your burst rotation.
Wave Control
- Push waves quickly with E-Q spread to match his waveclear and prevent him from freely roaming.
- Avoid slow pushing as he can easily freeze with voidlings and zone you from CS with Q poke.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never use your movement abilities aggressively post-6 when his R is available as you'll be completely vulnerable to ganks.
