Who Wins

  • Pre-6 you win this lane clearly through range, poke, and W blind — at level 2 you can start establishing a poke pattern, and at level 3 with E you gain a reliable gap-closer and escape that makes his E much harder to land cleanly.
  • Post-6 you lose the 1v1 if he gets his E off, because your R does not help you survive a full Darius combo with stacked passive, so you must avoid letting him stack at all.

How to Trade

  • Your best trading pattern is short auto-attack trades from max range, using W blind to negate his healing Q and auto-attacks, then immediately backing off before he can stack passive — never commit to an extended trade.
  • Use E to reposition around his E attempts rather than as an engage tool, and punish every missed E or overextended step with a quick burst combo.

Wave Control

  • You want to freeze the wave near your tower or keep it in a state where he cannot safely walk up to farm — this forces him to take poke damage for every CS and denies him the ability to all-in you with tower nearby.
  • Avoid letting him shove you in, as a bouncing wave near your tower removes your range advantage and lets him walk up more freely.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not use E aggressively onto him unless his E is on cooldown — if he catches you mid-air or immediately after landing with his E, you will be pulled back in and die to a full passive-stacked combo.
  • Playing around his E cooldown is the single most important mechanical discipline in this matchup.
