LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6 you lose the straight poke war — Orianna's range and W slow make it very difficult to run her down without burning your E, and she will simply kite you back to tower if you overcommit.
- Post-6 the matchup flips significantly in your favor because your R can interrupt her combo mid-cast, and a full Q-E-R-W-Q burst combo kills her before she can reposition the ball to shield or slow you.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to wait for her ball to be off her body — when she throws Q onto a minion or mispositions the ball, you have a window to E onto her without the W slow being immediately available, then full combo before she can reposition.
- Never engage when the ball is sitting on her because the W slow will kite you out and she will E away while you are stuck in the slow.
Wave Control
- You want to look for river or grass access to maintain elemental empowerment on your Q, which dramatically increases your all-in damage and makes short trades much more threatening — if Orianna pushes you in and denies terrain access, your damage output drops substantially.
- Use your wave clear to reset the lane state and look for roam opportunities where your R has more terrain to interact with.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not waste your E purely to close distance for a trade you cannot finish — Orianna's E gives her a free escape and if you burn your E to engage and she E's away, you are left with no gap-closer and she will immediately re-poke you.
- Patience is critical; commit to an all-in only when you have elemental empowerment active, your R is available, and her E is either on cooldown or she is out of position.
