Who Wins
- You win trades pre-6 through superior base stats and Q percent health damage, especially at levels 1-2 before Malphite gets W armor scaling.
- Post-6 you still win extended trades if you can avoid his R engage and force longer fights where your Q cooldown and passive shield give sustained advantages.
How to Trade
- Look for Q-auto-E combos when Malphite walks up for CS, using your E to slam him into walls for the stun and follow-up damage.
- Space around your Q range to poke him down while avoiding his Q slows, and use W to block his engage attempts.
Wave Control
- Push early levels to establish lane priority before Malphite's waveclear becomes oppressive with maxed Q.
- After level 6, maintain slow pushes to avoid giving him easy R angles, and look to freeze when ahead to deny his safe farming.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't waste your W reactively after he's already engaged - pre-cast it when you see him positioning for R to completely negate his all-in potential.
- Avoid extended trades in large minion waves where his E attack speed slow becomes more punishing with minion aggro.
