Who Wins
- You win most 1v1s pre-6 due to your superior base stats and W blocking Gnar's E escape, with level 2 being particularly strong when you get W+Q together.
- Post-6 you still win extended trades in mini Gnar form, but must respect Mega Gnar's R+W combo which can turn fights around.
How to Trade
- Your best trading pattern is to walk up when Gnar uses Q on minions, then Q+auto+E him into a wall for the stun and second Q proc.
- Always save W to block his E escape attempt, as this forces him to take the full trade duration where your sustained damage wins.
Wave Control
- Push early levels to establish lane priority since you win short trades, but be careful not to overextend past river when Gnar hits 6.
- Maintain slow pushes to build up minion advantages for all-ins, as Gnar struggles to match your wave clear with Q.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't waste W on Gnar's Q poke as this gives him free E escapes during actual trades.
