Who Wins
- You win levels 1-5 by auto-attacking between his Q minion casts and using Q/W to chip him down, forcing him to use empowered Q for sustain rather than trades.
- Post-6 he gains kill pressure with R+E+empowered Q combo, but your R provides strong counter-engage and mid-game teamfight advantage if you've established early control.
How to Trade
- Auto-attack freely every time Vladimir uses Q on minions, using Q and W to chip and bait him into using Q for sustain instead of harass - only back off when he has empowered Q or E ready.
- Use E defensively to absorb damage when he commits with empowered Q auto or E, not reactively to every poke - save it for when he tries to actually trade aggressively.
Wave Control
- Freeze waves near your tower to force Vladimir to overextend, making him vulnerable to ganks while you safely poke with Q and W from a protected position.
- Proper wave placement secures consistent gold and experience advantages that translate into mid-game snowball potential through superior scaling and teamfight control.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Position like an ADC: always respect his empowered Q and E windows by backing off when he can trade aggressively, and never overcommit to poke without maintaining safe positioning.
- Don't stand near minions when he has E charged, and avoid using abilities on cooldown - save mana and cooldowns for punishing his Q casts on minions.
