Who Wins
- You lose pre-6 as your engage range is shorter than their poke range, making it hard to create favorable trades.
- Post-6 you gain kill pressure with R, but Vel'Koz R and Caitlyn's disengage tools still make successful engages difficult.
Synergy & Trading
- Look for Q angles when enemies are farming or when Vel'Koz uses abilities on minions, immediately following with W-E-passive combo.
- Focus Caitlyn first as she's squishier and your R can bypass her E, while Vel'Koz has better disengage tools.
Wave Control/Roaming
- Roam after shoving waves when your ADC can safely farm, particularly targeting mid lane around levels 6-9.
- Time roams when Vel'Koz uses Q-W to clear waves, giving you a window where he can't immediately follow.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't Q into fights without considering Vel'Koz's E knockup which can interrupt your engage and leave you stranded.
- Never waste R on Vel'Koz when Caitlyn is in range to follow up, as she's the primary damage threat you need to neutralize.
