Pre-6, you win short trades if you land your Q, but Tahm Kench's W negates your follow-up by swallowing Kai'Sa out of danger, making sustained pressure unreliable.
Post-6, your R adds a strong engage tool, but Tahm's passive tankiness and W evacuation still blunt your kill pressure unless you catch Kai'Sa fully isolated.

Your best pattern is to poke with E-empowered autos on Kai'Sa, then commit to a full trade only when your Q lands and Tahm has already used his W — never trade into a Tahm who has W available, as he will simply eat Kai'Sa and reset the fight.
Use W on Jinx during all-ins to amplify her damage output and keep her alive against Kai'Sa's burst.

Push the wave consistently to deny Kai'Sa safe farm and force Tahm to choose between protecting her under tower or engaging — a Tahm who is playing passive under tower is not threatening you.
