Scuttle Contest

  • At level 3, you win the scuttle fight if you engage first with your Q to close the gap and let your packmates pressure Shaco, as his burst requires setup time with W boxes that he won't have pre-placed at scuttle.
  • At level 6, your R gives you a significant power spike with additional packmates, and you win a straight 1v1 if you can bait out his W clone first — if he uses his W to disengage or deceive you, wait for the clone to disappear before committing your full combo, as chasing the wrong target resets his advantage.

Predicted Jungle Path

  • Shaco typically starts Red Buff side (especially red side) to enable an early level 2 gank with W, then clears to Krugs or Raptors before taking Scuttle around 3:15.
  • He heavily favors pathing toward lanes where he has pre-placed W boxes for ambush ganks, so expect him to prioritize bot or mid lane early and avoid extended jungle fights unless he has vision control.

Invade or Not

  • You should invade Shaco at his second buff around 3:00–3:30 when he is between camps and has no W boxes pre-placed in the area — his W is his primary defensive and offensive tool, and catching him in the open without it drastically reduces his dueling power.
  • Target his blue buff side if he started red, as he will be lower HP and without his key cooldown available, and your packmates give you enough sustained damage to outduel him in a fair fight.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Do not chase Shaco blindly after he uses W — his clone deals damage and applies on-hit effects, and attacking the wrong target while he repositions will cause you to waste your Q and E cooldowns on nothing.
  • Committing your full combo into his clone is the single biggest mistake you can make, as it leaves you on cooldown with no packmates while the real Shaco re-engages from a favorable angle.
