Scuttle Contest

  • You win scuttle fights at level 3 due to your Q poke damage and E dash engage potential being stronger than Kayn's limited early damage output.
  • From level 6, you have sure win conditions when you can land your R engage on him before he uses his E to escape through walls, as your burst combo will kill him faster than his sustain can keep up.

Predicted Jungle Path

  • Kayn will likely start his buff opposite to yours and do a standard 3-camp clear (buff-gromp-buff or buff-krugs-buff) to reach level 3 quickly for scuttle contest.
  • He'll prioritize farming over early ganking since he needs his form transformation and will avoid risky invades until he gets his R.

Invade or Not

  • You should invade Kayn's jungle between levels 4-5 when he's doing his krugs or gromp, as these camps leave him low on health and he can't effectively escape through walls while taking camp damage.
  • Target his red side jungle specifically since he'll be more vulnerable there and you can cut off his escape routes to his blue side.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don't chase Kayn through walls with your E when he uses his E to escape, as you'll waste your gap closer and potentially walk into his team or unfavorable terrain.
  • Avoid fighting him in narrow jungle corridors where his Q can hit you multiple times, instead force fights in open areas where you can use your mobility advantage.
