Scuttle Contest
- At level 3, you win the scuttle fight against Hecarim cleanly if your W pack is active — your dogs add significant DPS and your Q bleed stacks punish him during his ramp-up phase before he builds enough Q stacks to out-sustain you.
- From level 6, your sure win condition is landing your E to interrupt his E engage, then immediately using R to reset your pack and burst him down before he can build W healing stacks; if you let him freely kite you with Q while his W heals, you will lose a prolonged fight.
Predicted Jungle Path
- Hecarim typically runs a full-clear path prioritizing Red Buff → Raptors → Wolves or Blue → Grolem → Red, and he will almost always contest the scuttle closest to his red buff at level 3.
- He paths aggressively toward early scuttle because his level 3 E-into-Q-spam is his primary early skirmish tool, so expect him to be at river around the 3:00–3:15 mark.
Invade or Not
- Yes, you should invade Hecarim at his second buff or raptors around 3:00–3:30 when your W pack is active, because your level 3 burst with dogs will outdamage his sustained Q trading pattern before he can ramp up.
- Target his red buff side if he started blue, as he will be lower HP from clearing and your pack will shred him before he can disengage with E.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not let Hecarim freely kite you in open river or long corridors — his E gives him a massive speed burst that lets him reposition and stack Q while you chase, and your dogs will fall behind, stripping your primary damage source.
- Avoid engaging him when your W is on cooldown, because without your pack active your damage drops dramatically and he will out-sustain you with W healing during a prolonged Q-spam trade.
