Who Wins
- Pre-6 you have slight advantage due to Q range and W waveclear, but Malzahar's Q poke and voidling pressure keeps it close.
- Post-6 Malzahar wins 1v1s decisively since your E cannot block his R suppression, and he can easily land full combo.
How to Trade
- Look for Q bindings when he steps up to last hit or place W, then follow with W and auto attacks before backing off.
- Avoid extended trades since his voidlings and E damage over time will out-damage your burst in longer engagements.
Wave Control
- Push waves hard with W to match his waveclear and prevent him from roaming freely.
- Focus on keeping the wave in neutral positions where you can threaten Q bindings while staying safe from his all-in potential.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Never use E preemptively against his R engage - the suppression goes through spell shield and you'll waste your only defensive tool.
- Don't walk into melee range of his voidlings as they deal significant damage and refresh his passive.
