LaneDiff costs me $50/month to run. If it helped you win a lane, a small tip keeps it alive. 💙

Who Wins
- Pre-6, you and Caitlyn win this lane — your Q range is comparable to Xerath's poke range, and landing a root on either enemy immediately converts into a Caitlyn headshot or trap combo that they cannot trade back against.
- Post-6, your R is a strong engage tool that Xerath's R cannot match in a close-range fight, and Caitlyn's R cleanup makes your all-in nearly unbeatable if you land your Q first.
Synergy & Trading
- Your best pattern is to use your W under the enemy's feet when they walk up to CS, forcing them to either take damage or back off, then immediately follow with your Q if they hesitate — once your Q lands, Caitlyn has a free headshot and trap placement, which creates a kill threat every time your Q is available.
Wave Control/Roaming
- You should not roam aggressively because Caitlyn is self-sufficient and your presence in lane is what makes this duo dominant — however, if you have shoved the wave and Aphelios is low, a short river roam to assist mid with your Q can be high-value since Xerath will be forced to stay bot to protect Aphelios.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not use your E reactively to block Aphelios's R after he has already committed his full combo — save your E proactively for moments when Aphelios is winding up his R or when Xerath's R is incoming, because a mistimed E wastes your most important defensive tool and leaves Caitlyn exposed.
